Help get out the pro-Earth, pro-People vote!

The Shalom Center joins with the Jewish Climate Action Network of Massachusetts to Turn Out the Pro-Earth, Pro-People Vote, beginning properly enough in high-stakes Pennsylvania on Pesach!

Dear fellow climate organizers and supporters —

No matter where you live, please attend and bring a friend on 4/15. We will learn and we will do. JCAN hopes you will feel empowered to then schedule and mount an
Environmental Voter Project (EVP) session for your own community. EVP programs are ideal to engage your fellow activists — during Passover, as an EarthDay event, during EarthWeek — indeed, multiple times from now to November!

JCAN has worked with EVP in past election cycles, and we think they are great, esp. for any non-profit groups. Their research is deep, so the volunteers' time goes to maximum leverage: our 'little' efforts add up to a proven, substantial difference.

Fellow Jewish Climate Activists -- Nothing is more important in 2024 to averting climate disaster than US presidential and congressional elections in November. I state this as the parent of a 20 year old with three grandparents who escaped Germany as teenagers just ahead of the Nazi slaughter without their parents. I increasingly see strong parallels with that time. We must protect our future by turning out climate-aware voters.
     -- David L., JCAN member

With one national duty–Taxes–behind you today, on to the other patriotic duty - Tikkun olam - making the future world better by ensuring good stewardship, by….encouraging registered environmental voters to vote. Registered voters who have not voted in two national elections–that’s whom you will call--in Pennsylvania, where votes count.

In partnership with fellow non-partisan, non-profit, Environmental Voter Project, JCAN-MA has reserved APRIL 15th evening. EVP’s Shannon Seigal will train us and guide us. At least 30 of us will make hundreds of calls to fellow Commonwealth, Pennsylvania to get out the primary vote, on or before April 23rd (while we are at our Seders). Why bother so early? People who vote are more likely to vote again. It becomes familiar, meaningful. They are not as easily dissuaded.
