Learning from the Flood Story: A Two-Part Webinar Series on Healing the Planet

The Shalom Center will be hosting a special two-part event in October: two webinars, on Tuesday, October 17, and Wednesday October 18, from 7pm to 8:30pm ET. Both webinars focus on or draw energy from the biblical story of the Flood - which we read on Shabbos, October 21 – at once both a Godwrestler story and a universal story.

Webinar 1 - The Flood Story (Oct 17)

The first webinar is led by R’ David Seidenberg of Kabbalah and Ecology and neohasid.org, R’ Professor Julia Watts Belser of Jewish Studies in the Dept. of Theology at Georgetown University, and R’ Arthur Waskow, using creative Jewish/Godwrestler midrash in a search for the wisdom that lies in and beneath the Flood story.

Webinar 2 – Beyond the Flood Story (Oct 18)

The second Webinar is led by R’ Mordechai Liebling and Lynne Iser. It is rooted in the teaching of a modern Buddhist sage, Joanna Macy, who shaped a process known as “The Work That Reconnects,” to which Mordechai and Lynne have brought their own wisdom and become adept: How to live in gratitude for our amazing Earth, in sadness for its deep wounding, and in activist hope to heal the Earth-Human relationship.

The two programs will be offered as one. All registrants will receive access to both webinars live, as well as links to both recordings. If you can’t make the live times, please register now and watch when you can.
